GBA grabs 2nd place on Final Four U19

Team GBA Sparta Prague finished on second place in this year´s Final Four tournament of national championship of U19 players in the Czech Republic. Team, which rely on players like Yevgen Sakhniuk, David Pekárek, Kristaps Gluditis, Michal Weiss or Matouš Kainc and was coached by Julian Betko was awarded with silver medals.

Team GBA Sparta reached the possibility to start in Final Four, which took place in May in city of Pardubice, through 3rd place in regular season ranking and after three blow-outs in quarter finals against Sokol Pražský. In the first game of the Final 4, team GBA defeated BCM Moravská Ostrava, with a 15 point margin, 81:66. Sakhniuk was the best scorer of the GBA team, when he scored 27 points. He also added 14 rebounds. Gluditis added 18 points and Pekárek connected with 17 points. In the gold medal game, it was winner of regular season, team of Pardubice, which was the GBA´s opponent. And the Pardubice were happier team after the final whistle, when it won 87:71. Another double-double of Yevgen Sakhniuk, who recorded 23 points and 11 rebounds was not enough for the win. The Ukranian players was the best scorer of the Final 4.  He was also joined by another GBA´s player, Latvian´s Kristaps Gluditis to be part of the best five of the tournament.
