The Get Better Academy will be heading to New York this weekend to play in the National Prep School Invitational basketball tournament. The tournament will take place at Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island. Some to the best prep schools from all over America and Canada will be competing in the tournament, and GBA will be joined by Helsinki Basketball Academy from Finland as the tournament's European invitees.

The NPSI tournament has hosted some of the top basketball talent the world has to offer. NBA stars DeAndre Jordan, Hassan Whiteside, Steven Adams, Andre Drummond, Isaiah Thomas, Thon Maker, and Andrew Wiggins are among the few professional players that have played in the annual tournament. There will be coaches from over 100 Division I NCAA basketball coaches in attendance, and even more from the DII, DII, and junior college level. GBA players will be getting exposure from coaches from universities all over the USA.

On their American trip, the GBA  players will also check out some of the best sights NYC has to offer, such as the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. The team will also watch Seton Hall play against head coach Julian Betko's alma matar Butler University. That will not be the only reunion for Betko, as they will also head to Boston to watch the Boston Celtics take on the Orlando Magic. Celtics' head coach Brad Stevens was serving his first season as head coach for Butler University in Betko's senior season. Betko was team captain for the team that ended up competing in the NCAA March Madness Tournament, losing in overtime to #2 seed Tennessee after defeating South Alabama in the opening round.

The GBA will open the tournament against TRC Academy from Ontario, Canada on January 26 at 7:15PM east-coast time.
