GBA participated in the National Prep School Invitational in Providence, Rhode Island, finishing 2-2 against some of the top prep schools in all of the United States, Canada, and Finland. Illya Tyrtyshnyk shot lights out from beyond-the-arc, averaging 13.5 PPG over the course of the tournament. Roberts Blumbergs was named to the All-Tournament team, nearly averaging a double-double with 9.5 PPG and snatching double-digit rebounds every game he played.

Aside from the tournament, the GBA players had the opportunity to explore New York City. They visited the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, and the Statue of Liberty. Most of the players have never visited New York City, and had great experiences to share. According to GBA Forward Yoro Sidibe, "The most surprising part of NYC were the buildings. I didn't know there were buildings that big in the world, and it was great to be around". Most GBA players have aspirations of playing college basketball, and the team had the opportunity to see a Division I college basketball game firsthand as Seton Hall hosted the Butler Bulldogs, head coach Julian Betko's alma matar. Betko's former team defeated Seton Hall 61-54.

The team also visited Massachusetts to see the Boston Celtics play against the Orlando Magic. After the Celtics defeated the Magic, GBA players and coaches visited to Boston's locker room to hear a message from Celtics' coach Brad Stevens, who coached Betko at Butler.

The trip to America was surely an unforgettable experience for the players. They will need to recover from jet lag quickly, as the GBA Men's team takes on Pilsen at 18:30 on Wednesday at GBA.
