U17 GBA Lions team started the season in their home gym against Tygri Praha on the 25th of September.

In the first quarter, we struggled with our defense and received 30 points from Tygri Praha. In the 2nd quarter, we tightened up our defense, leading us to close the gap to 8 point difference - 33:41. At the beginning of the 3rd, we allowed some easy baskets from the opponents, but we managed to convert steals into easy points from a transition in the second half of the quarter 54:59. Chopping down our opponent’s lead for most of the game cost us a lot of our strength, and we are losing this game 63:89. Most valuable players: J. Oupoh with 19 PTS, 5 REB, 5 AST; V. Noro Kalabiska (head coach of U17 GBA Lions): “The defense was our biggest pitfall during this game. We tried to be aggressive and that lead us to -5 in the 3rd quarter. But we couldn’t manage to handle the rest of the game physically. If you shoot the ball 11% from the perimeter you can’t win the game. A lot of positions were not open, because we settled for our guards. I think we still have a lot of work in front of us. If you don’t fail - you will never be better.”
